Aaaaahhh! Finally Spring Is Just Around The Corner!

I think the snow has finally subsided and the dead grass will soon be turning green. Most of the mud has dried up in the driveway and the daffodils are pushing up from their wintery sleep.

And I've started some of my veggie seedlings...basil, onions and bell peppers. Oooooo! Garden season will soon be upon us.

A Basket And A Touch Of Greenery

In doing research for a cloth basket I came across this link. http://www.rowleycompany.com/images/DIYFrench_Bread_Basket.pdf

I changed the dimensions and made my basket a little smaller. However the ties on the corners turned out a little too long and the sides a little too high for the purpose I wanted it for. Oh well, I can still use it maybe for a table centerpiece or a for a gift. (Please excuse the threads that I didn't remove before I took the picture.
Living in the northeast brings more snow than one likes. I personally am 'snow weary' at this point in time. We keep getting teased with an occasional warmer day, the snow melts and the next day...it's back! Aaaaauuuuugh! Enough already! So the following picture, taken around the corner from our house, doesn't have a focal point but it does show the green growth we all crave in this neck of the woods. Enjoy....sigh.

I'm On A Roll

Wow! I've written three blogs in one night. I'm on a roll. And it's only Tuesday! LOL

I've gotten our quilt guild blog twilightstitchers92.blogspot.com written along with my other blog asweetsavor.blogspot.com and now on to my original blog. When I started this blog I was thinking of maybe cataloging how we fixed up our house after we bought it. However this blog turned into a craft/quilting blog and I have enjoyed writing it.

The only thing I have to show you today is the quarterly block I completed for the quilt guild.

A New Wall Hanging

I came across an interesting tutorial a while back at http://craftygiveaways.blogspot.com/2008/07/folded-flower-tutorial.html

I played with it a bit and then I came across a Pinterest entry where someone had added to the design. Well, I couldn't resist so I drafted a block with this folded flower and pieced the area surrounding the flower using the paper piecing method.. I chose the appropriate colors for the block to coordinate with our bedroom colors. I decided that I would place a wall hanging made from three blocks in the little hallway between our bedroom and master bath.
Each block measures about 5 1/4 inches. I added beads to the center of each flower.

A Quick Check In

Our lifestyle has changed since my husband of nearly 50 years had a serious stroke in May 20019. No more running out for groceries when I wa...
