Planning a new project

With a "new" house and a freshly painted wall, I have the opportunity to create a new piece of art for the music corner of our livingroom. What could be better than basing this art on a music theme? I've already decided that the title will be 'If music could be seen what would it look like?' You see, I have this habit of naming my art pieces before I create them. I think that the title is just as important as the art itself. I will be trying some new-to-me mixed media techniques to create that piece of art.

A Sow's Ear Into A Silk Purse

A garage sale find can become something unique. This is a before and after example. I've been delving into collage work and this was a perfect item for transformation. I can't wait to carry my tea and cookies out to the garden with this.

Newest painting

Life keeps me busy but I found time to share this (new) watercolor painting with you. This is another painting from my I-know-this-isn't-finished file. I took it to my Wednesday painting group and finished it there. Can you tell that I'm proud of this one? But with all that planning and perspective I think I'll probably not want to do another one! Can't decide if this is a keeper or if I'll put it on the market.

After the fourth

Our garage saling yesterday was somewhat of a bust. We followed signs that were posted but most of the sales weren't open. We found only 5 or 6 in our travels. My daughter made purchases of a dry sink, a chair and a lamp. I only came home with a fireplace bellows that I have plans for so... Stay tuned!

The Rose Covered Cottage

I'm on my way to my painting group this morning and I though I'd share my last painting with you. This was in the reject pile and my artists friends encouraged me to develop it. I'm so glad that I listened! Now it's hanging in a real estate office!

A Quick Check In

Our lifestyle has changed since my husband of nearly 50 years had a serious stroke in May 20019. No more running out for groceries when I wa...
