Wednesday Flowers And A Walk

I can't believe it. Wednesday always seems to come in a rush. Wow! I got my latest flowers done yesterday. Guess I was on a roll. See how many blooms I have.

The weather was crazy yesterday. So much rain! I've lived in this area all my life and I don't remember the nearby city ever getting flooded so heavily. The grass is growing fast but the ground is so soaked it's like having a grass mat floating on the water. About the time it's dry enough to mow the lawn it will be a meadow.

My daughter and I took a walk in the neighborhood and I took a few pictures to share.
First there was a baby garter snake on the road. I wasn't looking down and almost stepped on him. My daughter said he looked pretty mad at me. I guess my shadow disturbed his sunbathing.

Next the neighbor's horses saw us and I can just imagine they were thinking: 'Well, you came to visit and didn't bring us a treat?'

Then we got to the top of the hill (sound of me huffing and puffing my way up) and I had to share how green the country side has gotten.

And this is looking back down the hill toward home.  Find the tree in the middle of the picture that is leafing out in bright yellow green and you will be barely able make out the back of our home.

One Flower Wednesday and Testimony Time

First the testimony:
It's been a wild week. My husband and I are sharing one car right now as the his vehicle is out of service (temporarily I hope). I had to drive him to work Sunday night so I could have the car to pick up my 93 year old dad from adult care facility he lives at the next morning and take him to his doctor's appointment. When we got to hospital parking garage and I got out of the car I noticed the rear tire looking very soft.  As we waited to be taken in the office from the waiting room, I decided it would be not help the situation by worrying about that tire. With all the times God has delivered me from the scrapes that come with life why be concerned now that He wouldn't come up with an answer. After my dad's exam was complete we went back to the car. I looked at the tire and it appeared closer to flat than it had when I got there. As I was getting my dad in to the car a man a few cars away from ours called out "Did you know you have a flat tire?" Then he offered to use the portable compressor he had in his car to fill my tire with air. Rescued again! And it's humbling to think that God would care so much for his children that He would plant someone with the right tool, in the right place, at the right time to take care of a problem that had arisen.
Later when I picked my husband up from work, he decided we should go right to the tire store to check out that tire that was getting soft again. Yep, they found a screw embedded in the sidewall of the tire. A replacement tire and we were on our way.

Here's this week flowers. don't you just love those hexies?

It's Wednesday!

Another week has passed and I must have blinked because I didn't see it go by. Time seems to be speeding up on me. How about you?
I'm having a busy week again. Spring cleaning and getting ready for Pesach (Passover). So much to remember. How am I ever going to get it right?
I just checked in to share my latest flowers for One Flower Wednesday. My garden is growing! I have quite a number of these cuties cut out and ready to paper piece and baste together.

It's One Flower Wednesday Again

Here it is...Wednesday again! I only have to do one flower a week to participate but I seem to be cruising comfortably creating two flowers a week. It may take until next summer to have enough flowers to make into whatever I decide on but it encourages me to keep up with my blog. Don't you just love this little sheep watching over the flowers? I thought it might break up the monotony by spicing up my pictures a bit. LOL

Yesterday I treated my oldest daughter to lunch at Applebee's and then we went shopping at a quilt store we hadn't been to before. I purchased a new 6 1/2 inch wide quilting ruler, a fat quarter and a yard of fabric will rows of houses printed on it. Nifty!

I decided that Wednesdays would be my art day of the week. Last week I never did get to my painting but instead drew bottles in my sketchbook. And this week I was motivated to clean my studio...eeeek! I can see the floor now! Oh, is that the color of my carpet. I haven't seen it in so long I almost forgot what it looked like. And I found art supplies in the cabinet that I didn't remember I had. Maybe spending the morning cleaning this room was worth it after all. And it probably won't happen again until the garden goes back to sleep this fall.

Third Post This Week

Wow! I must be on a roll. This is the third time I've posted on my blog this week. What is the world coming to? I must be hooked on it.  Will I keep it up or slide back into complacency? Time will tell.
Spring cleaning has started. I actually cleaned and straightened my bedroom closet. And yesterday I cleaned the bedroom. Well, almost. I've got to go back and wash the windows and dust the overhead fan and then I'm done with that room. Awesome! Can you believe it?

This is the hutch that I bought at the junk shop I promised to show you. I only paid $32 for it. It was a little scratched up but, with some Old English, it cleaned up really nice. It has the perfect dimensions to fit against the wall in the kitchen. I must have changed the display on it at least five times before I was satisfied.

This is one of the UFO's I teased you with in a past post. I finally got this table runner with the 'Puss in the Corner' block completed and am working on potholders to match.

A Quick Check In

Our lifestyle has changed since my husband of nearly 50 years had a serious stroke in May 20019. No more running out for groceries when I wa...
